NedRailways has strengthened its UK team by announcing today the appointment of Dominic Booth to its Board.
Currently Deputy Chief Executive of the Trains Division of National Express, Dominic will take up the newly created role of Managing Director for NedRailways UK Ltd from 1 February 2007. Commenting on the appointment, Anton Valk, Chief Executive of NedRailways said: “Dominic is an enormously well respected figure in the UK industry and we are delighted that he has agreed to join the team at NedRailways. His arrival next February will mark a significant step forward in the development of NedRailways in the UK. In his role Dominic will work very closely with our UK rail businesses, supporting the management teams and helping to drive forward our commitment to delivering the very best in skills and service to our customers.” Commenting on his decision to take the new position at NedRailways, Dominic Booth said: “I’m thrilled to be joining NedRailways at this exciting period for the company. In particular I’m looking forward to building on the excellent track record that has already been achieved in the UK and supporting the continuous improvement of the Northern Rail and Merseyrail operations. I’m also excited at the potential for building on this record for the delivery and development of new business opportunities.” In his role as Managing Director Dominic will take a position on the Boards of Merseyrail and Northern Rail, the two companies which NedRailways operates in partnership with Serco. He will also play an important role in the mobilisation and development of new business opportunities. Today’s announcement comes shortly after the appointment of David Quarmby as an adviser to the Board of NedRailways and underlines the company’s commitment to developing its business in the UK.
