Peter is Director HR & Change for NedRailways, with particular responsibility for representing NedRailways in its franchises with Serco in the UK. He currently sits on the boards of both Merseyrail and Northern Rail, where he focuses on strategies to improve HR discipline and the management of legal issues.
Peter joined NS in 1998 as Director General for Legal Affairs, where he provided high level counsel to the main board of NS on both legal and strategic issues for several years. He was involved in the sale of many NS companies as well as the merger of NS Cargo with DB Cargo. He also holds a variety of board positions in different companies, including Hit Rail (a European rail data communications business).
Before joining NS, Peter worked for a major international law firm Loeff & van der Ploeg where his primary responsibilities related to mergers & acquisitions, and the restructuring of companies. He completed Law School at Leiden University in 1985, and also studied International Politics at the State University of New York.
