Ruud Haket

After graduating from his study Mechanical Engineering at the University Twente in January 1989 until he joined Nederlandse Spoorwegen in September 1996, Ruud worked in a number of management jobs for different companies. The jobs mainly concerned logistics and production/service management. In this period he lead several reorganisation project. The most important was the reorganisation of a production plant from a functional organisation to a product oriented organisation.

In 1996 Ruud Haket joined NS as Manager Service Region South within NedTrain the maintenance company of NS.
This region was responsible for the cleaning, daily checks and repairs of the trains operated in the south of Netherlands. The regions consisted of 350fte at 10 locations.

In 1998 Ruud was asked to lead two important projects within NedTrain. First of all a project to improve the internal cleaning for all trains of Nederlandse Spoorwegen.
The performance level of the cleaning process needed a step change within a year. Next to this successful project Ruud was responsible for the start of the new National Logistics Centre. This NLC was planned to open at the beginning of 1999 en is responsible for the planning and the supply of all spare-parts for the service- and maintenance locations of NedTrain.

From the beginning of 1999 Ruud was responsible for the purchase and logistics of NedTrain and in December 2000
he was appointed as Director Purchase and Logistics.
In 2003 he joined NedRailways as Engineering Director, responsible for all rolling stock and maintenance issues during bidding projects abroad and at 12 December 2004 Ruud took over the role of Engineering Director within Northern Rail.
