Richard Emmerink joined NS in January 2000 as a Strategic Adviser to the NS Board for the bid for the High Speed Link from Amsterdam to Paris. After this bid had been awarded to NS (jointly with KLM), he took up his present position as Finance Director within NedRailways.
Previously, Richard had been a Management Consultant with McKinsey and Company in Amsterdam and with JP Morgan in London.
He has a PhD in Transport Economics from the Free University of Amsterdam where he specialised in information and pricing in road transport. He has written a number of books and articles in this field.
